Welcome to the NEW Fond du Lac Soccer Association Website!
History

In 1974, a very special meeting took place. A small group of soccer enthusiasts decided to start a soccer club. This group of soccer pioneers had no idea what their little meeting would start. In 1974 the membership was capped at 125 players and the ages ranged from 8 to 16.

The goal of this group was to gain enough interest in soccer so that high school soccer would become a part of Goodrich High School. In the mid 80's, Dick Liegl became the club president and boy's soccer was added to Goodrich High School in 1986.

The youth soccer numbers were steady throughout the 80's and early 90's at about 350 players. With the youth growth, the need for more fields became evident. A group of businessman came up with a plan for the current soccer complex located behind Moraine Park Technical College. In 1994, Greg Winkler took over as the club president and led the club through the upcoming soccer boom. The U.S. hosted the Men's World Cup that year and the youth numbers exploded. The participation numbers went from 350 to 2050 in the next 6 years. In 1999 the Soccer Association, with the help of the Fond du Lac School District, provided the community with a lighted premier soccer field. On September 14, 1999 the Fondy boys played the first ever game under the lights, a 2-1 victory over Appleton North.

Currently the Fond du Lac Soccer Association has 1750 kids playing, 129 recreation teams and 23 select teams. The Fond du Lac community is very supportive of youth soccer. Our select teams have been very successful in the East Central as well as state league play.
