to the new online home of the Fond du Lac Soccer Association
Well, I am back after a 2-year absence, to serve the soccer community. After much thought and many promises to my wife, I have decided the best way to help the youth in this community was to get back on the soccer board. I have seen a decline in our recreation numbers, in our select numbers, and our player development. My parents always told me, you cannot complain about anything unless you are willing to make a change. That means getting involved and offering whatever I have to make a difference.
This is not something that can be done by one person, it takes a community to raise a child, it takes a soccer community to develop a soccer player. As I get more familiar with the current board members and the other new members that came on board, I like the enthusiasm and commitment I see in this group. We will do our very best to give you the best youth product out there. We are going to focus on coaching training at all levels, both recreation and select as well as player development. This board will be there to serve you and listen to your thoughts and suggestions.
When people choose to get on boards and get involved there is always a personal agenda or reason they want to serve. This board will have one agenda – to make this the best possible experience for your child. I want to thank the people that showed up at this years annual meeting and made it possible for me to be part of this program once again.
Before I close, we need to say a special thank-you to some very dedicated individuals that have moved on. Ben Winter served as the President the past 3 years and will still help in our coaching ranks. Renee Herrick, the outgoing Vice-President, was the face of the recreation league the past few years and make our young players her life. Gina Rosado, operated our concession stand for the past 5 years and donated countless hours to the program. Paul Mengert, who guided our referees last season has moved in another direction. Michael Kobilic, a past president and director of the select league, Michael dedicated his life to the program for many years and will continue to help in our coaching ranks.
Thank you all for your past leadership and thank you in advance to all of the people that will help us in the 2012-13 season.
Keep on Kick'in,
