The Fond du Lac Soccer Association "Phoenix Academy" is a program available to girls and boys in the U7, U8 and U10 age groups ages approx 6-10. Soccer Academy programs are designed to bridge the gap between recreation league and select (competitive) league play focusing on player development from professional coaching to create the best possible environment for our youth soccer players to excel once they reach the select level at U11.
The Phoenix Academy Training focuses on these key areas: Technical, Tactical, Physical, and Psychosocial.
The Summer 2020 academy will train twice per week on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday (you can select your weekly dates at registration). Based on US Youth Soccer Play On Guidelines we will modify the academy so it focuses on social distance training and technical skills without large group game play or scrimmages. As guidelines shift we may move to small-sided games but note we plan at this time to only focus on individual skill training for this special academy summer session.
This is modified from our original structure as noted above but will resume once we move into a phase that allows group play.
Academy Dates and Times:
15-20 minutes of quick multi touches on the ball.
15-20 minutes of a small activity/scrimmage that will either bring out repetitions for dribbling to beat a player, dribbling for possession, passing, receiving, or striking a ball. (we will build on skills week after week and focus on a different skill each week).
30-35 minutes of scrimmage play - putting that days emphasis into action. (the last week will be a full game/scrimmage day).
