Fondy Rec Soccer

The Fond du Lac Soccer Association Recreational League represents all youth recreational teams playing in Fond du Lac. On an annual basis we have 1,300+ players ages 4-18 that span 120+ teams and 150+ coaching volunteers participating in May, June, and July. There are no tryouts for rec league and all players are welcome to participate. On top of an 9 week season we hold two weekend events for the rec league. Our Spring Games (aligned with Picture Day weekend) and the popular End of the Year Tournament. Registration opens January 1st each year for the upcoming Rec League Season.

2024 Youth Rec League Season: May - July

The 2024 Recreational Spring/Summer Season will begin with organized training the week of May 6th, pre-season scrimmages the week of May 13th, and regular season games will begin on May 20th and will conclude July 13th and 14th with our end of the year tournament. 

Similar to last year, games will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week with Thursday as a designated make-up date for weather cancelations and Memorial Day games.

  • Week of May 20th: Rec League Season Begins
  • June 5th: High School Rec League Teams Begin
  • June 1st: Picture Day and Spring Games (Girls Teams)
  • June 2nd: Picture Day and Spring Games (Boys Teams)
  • July 1st - 5th: No Games
  • July 13th - 14th: End of Year Tournament (All Teams)

Online Registration for the 2024 season will open January 1st.

Pricing:

  • U4-U8: $75
  • U9-U14: $80 
  • High School: $75

On February 12th pricing will increase by $10, and on April 1st will increase another $10 so we encourage everyone to register early to help us plan and save you money. 

Additional costs to participate in the FDLSA rec league include a $10 "Keeper Card" Fundraising Fee where you will receive (2) cards with discounts to local area businesses that you may keep or sell (valued at $10 each). Also, there is a $30 volunteer buyout deposit this year for all participants (except HS players). After you fulfill your volunteer hours, you are eligible to receive your $30 deposit back at the end of the season. The FDLSA will hold 1-2 volunteer payouts during and after the season is complete. 

Nights of Play

Times

All Games are at the Fond du Lac Soccer Complex and start at either 5:30pm or 6:45pm (random generated scheduling). Below is a listing of which age group plays on which nights. These scheduled nights of play remain consistent throughout the season. Thursday night is reserved for make-up games that may have been canceled earlier in the week. 

Practice nights are not scheduled by the club, allowing each team to select a night that works best for the coach and the team.

Age Group: U4

The U4 Boys/Girls program has been designed and implemented specifically to give our Pre-K players an instructional and fun opportunity to get into the world’s most popular sport. It teaches the fundamental skills through the application of fun games.

This program is designed to introduce the very basics of the game of soccer to children in these early years. Each week (Monday's), teams will conduct a team style training with fun games, activities, and game-style action. (Play - Practice - Play) Teams will consist of a max of 8 players. 
A jersey is provided as part of the program.  Each player will need size 3 soccer ball, black shorts, soccer cleats, soccer socks, shin guards, and a water bottle. 

 

Age Group: U5
The U5 Boys/Girlsprogram has been designed and implemented specifically to give the next generation of soccer players an instructional and fun insight into the world’s most popular sport. It teaches the fundamental skills through the application of fun games. This will ensure that you are able to give your future soccer star the correct coaching points while in your very own backyard! 

This program is designed to introduce the game of soccer to children in the early years. Teams will hold one practice per week and each week, the games are played in a 4v4 format without goalkeepers and they play 4 quarters of 10 minutes. A pinnie is awarded to the player who scores and they are not allowed to score again until another player on their team scores, or the quarter ends, whichever comes first. Volunteer parent coaches learn how to teach fundamental skills and lead their team through the skills shown by the trainer. Teams will consist of a max of 8 players. A jersey is provided as part of the program.  Each player will need size 3 soccer ball, black shorts, soccer cleats, soccer socks, shin guards, and a water bottle. 


Age Group:  U6

The U6 Boys/Girls program is designed to introduce players to the thrill of playing soccer. It is the same format as the U5 program. Teams will hold one practice per week and each week, the games are played in a 4v4 format without goalkeepers and they play 4 quarters of 10 minutes. A pinnie is awarded to the player who scores and they are not allowed to score again until another player on their team scores, or the quarter ends, whichever comes first. Volunteer parent coaches learn how to teach fundamental skills and lead their team through the skills shown by the trainer. Teams will consist of a max of 8 players.

A jersey is provided as part of the program. Each player should wear shin guards, black shorts, soccer socks and soccer cleats. Each player should also bring their own size 3 soccer ball and a water bottle. 
 

Age Group:  U7

The U7 Boys/Girls in house program is a program where players learn through the application of playing in small sided games. The games are played in a 4v4 format without a goalkeeper and they play 4 quarters of 12 minutes. The 4v4 format is designed to increase the player’s touches on the ball and provide every player an opportunity to be involved in the game. A pinnie is awarded to the player who scores and they are not allowed to score again until another player on their team scores, or the quarter ends, whichever comes first.Players who participate within the U7 program typically practice at least once a week with their team and coaching is carried out by a volunteer coach. Teams will consist of a max of 8 players.

We offer both a boys league and girls league.  A team uniform consisting of a jersey will be provided.  Each player should wear their own black shorts, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats.  Each player should also bring their own size 3 soccer ball and a water bottle. 
 

 Age Group:  U8

The U8 Boys/Girls in house program is a program where players learn through the application of playing in small sided games. The games are played in a 4v4 format without a goalkeeper and they play 4 quarters of 12 minutes. The 4v4 format is designed to increase the player’s touches on the ball and provide every player an opportunity to be involved in the game. A pinnie is awarded to the player who scores and they are not allowed to score again until another player on their team scores, or the quarter ends, whichever comes first.Players who participate within the U8 program typically practice at least once a week with their team and coaching is carried out by a volunteer coach. Age Group:  U9 + U10

The U9 and U10 programs are the next step in the developmental ladder. Players will now be exposed to a slightly larger field where they shall compete in a 7v7 format (including goalkeepers) and they play 2 equal halves of 25 minutes. Players who participate within the U9 and U10 program typically practice once a week with their team and trained by volunteer coaches. Teams will consist of 12-14 players.

We offer both a boys league and girls league.  A team uniform consisting of a jersey will be provided.  Each player should wear their own black shorts, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats.  Each player should also bring their own size 4 soccer ball and a water bottle. 


Age Group:  U12

The U12 program is yet another step developmentally. Players will now be exposed to a larger field where they shall compete in an 9v9 format (including goalkeepers) and they play 2 equal halves of 30 minutes each. Offside rule (FIFA Law 11) is introduced and enforced. Players who participate within the U12 program typically practice once a week with their team and are trained by volunteer coaches. Teams will consist of 14-16 players.

We offer both a boys league and girls league.  A team uniform consisting of a jersey will be provided.  Each player should wear their own black shorts, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats.  Each player should also bring their own size 4 soccer ball and a water bottle. 


Age Group:  U14 

This is where the players now experience the thrill of playing full sided 11v11 soccer!  Players who participate within the U14 program typically practice at once a week with their team. 

Games are played on Tuesdays for girls and Monday for boys at 5:30pm and 6:45pm (two 30 minute halves). We offer a boys league and a girls league. A team uniform consisting of a jersey will be provided.  Each player should wear their own black shorts, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats.  Each player should also bring their own size 5 soccer ball and a water bottle.
 

Age Group:  High School

U15-U19 Coed teams play in the recreational high school league. Teams have coaches at this level, but at times may be another HS age individual. Teams play 11v11 and play 2 equal halves of 30 minutes each. Practices each week are optional and determined by each coach or team. A team uniform consisting of a t-shirt jersey will be provided.  Each player should wear their own black shorts, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats.  Each player should also bring their own size 5 soccer ball and a water bottle.
